The Advanced Composite Structures Engineering Laboratory was initiated in the fall of 2017 to address a wide variety of research programs and educational issues related to composite materials manufacturing and testing. The research focuses on composite material design, structural optimization and pre-preg formation to manufacture composite materials.
Our research aims to exploit and develop synergies among structural engineering, material science and manufacturing in the field of composite materials. Applications include aerospace, motorsports and automotive industry. The ACSEL research group has had a range of governmental funding as well as industrial contracts.
